Wendys Vanilla Bean flavour has topped off a year of sweet awards for the company by scooping the Ice Cream Champion Award at the 2011 Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards.
Wendys Vanilla Bean and Wicked Chocolate flavours were both awarded Gold Medals at the Awards but the Vanilla Bean flavour has now gone one better - fighting off tough competition to be judged as the winner of the Champion Award in the ice cream category.
It's the fourth round of accolades for Wendys - with the awards following recent wins at this year's Dairy Industry Association of Australia Awards, Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show and the 2011 Sydney Royal Cheese and Dairy Produce Show.
"The Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards are judged by a panel of industry experts and aim to celebrate Australia's finest food, so it's terrific news that Wendys has picked up the Champion Award in the ice cream category," said Wendys CEO Rob McKay.
